“Night light that make up for the missing hug. ”
This project is a design project that was did during the corona epidemic. The origion motivation of the project was trying to do something helping people through the epidemic as a designer. During the epidemic, most countries adopted quarantine measures more or less. People‘s connections were breakly down. Many countries stopped to have general greetings such as handshakes, hugs and kisses. This lack of emotional care from the outside-in has brought a sense of loneliness and uneasiness.
Huggit is a cushion-light series that deliver the message by its product language that it can be hugged through its hugging shape. People make up for the lack of hugging in real life by hugging it, which becomes an indirect psychological recovery. The internal LED light makes it possible to use as a light source at night. It can bring companionship and a sense of security through the soft light coming through the fabric.
